This single house is a combination of 2 simple architectural forms, punctuated by an elongated textured lightwell that binds them together, acting as a central fulcrum to the overall design. It’s geared to open up to the landscape, with living accommodation upstairs, and large open plan living spaces on ground floor connecting to the garden.
Charred Larch was used for the exterior cladding which also extends up to form the double height lightwell above the entrance, whilst also giving the exterior composition a focal point.
